At Kinfolk Student Cafes, we know that the primary focus of schools is to feed young minds, not bodies. Luckily, feeding young bodies is exactly what we do best!
Fusing together healthy, fresh ingredients with cafe style menus – we have developed a range of food service solutions for schools (some on campus, some not) that make healthy eating easier, convenient, and fun by actively exposing Australian kids to real food, in appropriate quantities and helping to develop sustainable healthy eating habits for life.
OUR MISSION – to make nutritious and delicious food accessible to students and staff exactly when and where they need it most – at school and at play.
Our food services and programs also help schools to meet national health strategy benchmarks, delivery core services and promote health and well-being within the school community.

How It Works
We know that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach when choosing the right food service solution for your school. To make your choice easier, we have developed 3 service options to make sure EVERY school community has the opportunity to access real food, every single day.
OPTION 1: School Based Cafe
Our campus based student café option is a full canteen service option with a Kinfolk Team stationed at your school, providing canteen services 3 -5 days per week.
This option best suits schools wanting to offer canteen services to their school community for both recess and lunch breaks, and expect students to regularly use the service provided.
Becoming a host school for our Student Cafe service couldn’t be simpler. You provide the space and we will do the rest!
No staffing woes. No stock ordering and control. No pressure on your school administration team or budget. In fact, we pay you a negotiated fee for the opportunity to be part of your school community.
We plan our menu in consultation with you and provide regular reports to campus management to make sure we are meeting your needs and hitting your targets.
An online ordering app is developed for each host school so that student orders can be made online. Additionally, students can order their lunch ‘old school style’ with paper bag orders accepted.
Grab and Go options are also available for spontaneous purchases.
Each student cafe is staffed with hospitality and customer service professionals with loads of experience and energy to match.
We also come equipped with our own insurances, and operate in accordance with legislation, regulations, and national health strategy.
We also provide high end catering services for school based meetings, functions, and events.
OPTION 2: Off Campus Lunch Delivery Service (Available in the Gunnedah Shire only).
Our off-campus lunch delivery service is an option for schools not requiring an on-site team to provide services, but who still want their students to experience the benefits of amazing, nutritionally rich food that ticks all the boxes.
This option is supported by the development of an online ordering app, with lunch orders placed online, prepared in our Kinfolk Café Kitchen, and delivered to your school in time for lunch.
Each term, a menu is developed in consultation with school management and P& F to best meet student needs and tastes.
This service does not require a minimum number of orders to be placed each day.
A minimum 6-month contract is required to establish the service.
OPTION 3: Green Star Lunchbox Program (Currently available in the Gunnedah Shire only).
We have designed this program for pre-school and primary school students with a focus on providing healthy, nutritionally balanced, fully packed lunchboxes to Australian kids at school.
The program is designed to make healthy eating more accessible to our youngest Australian’s and takes the pressure off parents to prepare and pack lunchboxes that are nutritionally balanced, compliant with policy and actively reduces packaging and waste.
This program is easily customised, and will appeal to schools wanting to promote healthy eating, relieve their families of the daily ‘lunchbox hustle’ and value add to their service.
NOT A SCHOOL? That’s okay! We also provide this service to busy parents wanting to outsource the never ending lunchbox chore and to customers requiring a prepacked catering option for an event or activity. Email enquries@kinfolkstudentcafes.com.au to receive an information pack today!

In Australia, almost ¼ of our kids under 12 years old are classified as obese. In fact, Australia is ranked as the 3rd heaviest nation on the planet, closely tailing The United States and New Zealand for a podium finish. Obesity related illness and disease is one of the major killers of Australians.
Studies show that one of the most effective ways of reducing obesity in adulthood is through education. By providing opportunities for young people to develop healthy habits during their formative years, we may just hold the secret to fighting the obesity epidemic.
Our school based cafes, lunch delivery services and prepacked lunchbox options play a huge role in helping to shape healthy eating habits and attitudes to wellness by offering healthier food options that are nutritionally balanced, portion controlled, full of the good stuff and enjoyable.

To order from Kinfolk Student Cafes, simply download our no fuss online ordering app, log in and order away.
You can view your school’s menu, place multiple orders for different students, customise your order, order in advance and pay securely online.
For those who like it ‘Old School’, students are welcome place their order on campus using the lunch order box, using either cash or our cafe Eftpos facilities.
